Staff at JHL Communications raised money in aid of Movember, a charity campaign raising money to support prostate and testicular cancer charities in the UK.
Money was raised by five staff who spent the month of November growing moustaches and seeking sponsorship from family, friends and colleagues. The men, known as The Handlebar Boys, groomed, trimmed and waxed their way into the photo below.
Michelle Livingstone, Operations Director said: “We are delighted that our staff decided to support Movember. It is a great way to raise funds and raised a few smiles in the office too”.

Apple have surprised all of their Wall St critics by posting double profits for the last quarter of a staggering $7.3 billion dollars and now has $72.6 billion in cash reserves! Impressive results by any standard. What is it that makes all things Apple so alluring? Whilst some dismiss their products as shiny and for those without a true technical understanding, their whopping success would seem to belie this somewhat. As a fan of Apple products in general, the reason for their success is not down to creating innovative technology per se, many manufacturers have provided the tools for years before not least Microsoft, HTC and RIM. However, Apple capture something in the minds of the people. Their products are undoubtedly desirable with their aesthetically pleasing, innovative designs and cool factor . Arguably, it is the ease of use and intuitive nature of their UI which keeps their customers coming back for more. Apple’s marketing and clever launch timing (by building up demand prior to launch of new products) is backed up by reliable products that simply work as you would want them to. As the only true provider in the App space, RIM for all of their greatness have fallen sadly short in this respect, ordering relatively cheap applications which work straight away is easy and fun.
With my iPad 2, I can make video calls anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection to anyone in the world with or without an Apple product, I can surf the web at respectable speeds (broadband speed permitting), download apps for business and pleasure, manage my email and calendar, read e-books, view videos, watch t.v. and create, review and edit word, excel and powerpoint documents. All things I can do on a laptop with a webcam but for some reason it all seems easier and more convenient on an Apple device.
Martyn McLaughlin, of the Scotsman newspaper, interviewed JHL’s Managing Director, John Livingstone to gain an understanding of just what it is that makes Apple products so popular.
