Buying an iPhone is easy. Do you want black or white? To many, selecting an Android handset is more challenging with so many different handsets to choose from!

Whether you're looking for an easy-to-use entry level handset or a multimedia powerhouse, Android is the operating system for you.

One important thing to bear in mind is that, unlike iPhone, not all Android based handsets are created equal. One consideration is the processor within the phone. The faster the chip, the smoother everything will work, from flicking through your contacts and making calls to surfing the web and opening apps. The latest phones have dual-core processors runnig at up to 1.4GHz. Go for the fastest processor you can afford!

Another consideration is the screen size. Although many of today's large screens look great, they will eat your battery life and are often very large to carry about in your pocket. The screen's resolution is also key. Don't buy anything below 320x480px as this will affect your "Android" experience.

Finally, take into consideration the "extra" features on the phone like video recording and a digital compass.

How to select the right mobile phone

Purchasing a new mobile phone can be as simple as going for a handset with a design that catches your eye or one with a a list of features to suit your business needs. Aside from brand preferences, most manufacturers have different types of phones to suit your needs. To make the selection process easier, JHL has organised phones into "Best for..." categories to allow you to get an idea of which phones may suit your needs. You can also view all phones covered in our round-ups in our products zone by clicking here. Good luck with your search and just click the "live chat" button at the top of the site at any time if you require help.
