BlackBerry | Category: SmartphoneI've been using the Blackberry Torch for almost a month now and I have to say I am very impressed. I feel the Blackberry OS 6 makes it faster as everything loads up quickly and responds quicker. It also gives us a new menu set up which is easier to use and has some nice features such as frequent which keeps all the icons you use most frequently. I love the fact that I can use a touch screen but also have the full QWERTY keyboard to type long winded emails. The track pad is still available if you need a break from the touch screen. The touch screen is very responsive and the bigger screen makes it more enjoyable to surf the web, use apps and also watch videos. It also makes emails look much better on the bigger and clearer display. The camera is 5MP which gives great photo quality and the bigger screen makes this feature great! The handset is a little bulky but you forget about this after using it for a while. The internet speed is slightly faster but there is not a huge difference. It loads up sites better and the pinch and zoom feature is very useful when on the internet. The only fault I have with it is nothing to do with the handset but to do with the lack of apps for Blackberry. There are very few good apps. Most of them are very poor and it's a shame as I feel this is a great device but lack of apps holds BlackBerry back while others such as Android and Apple are continuously creating new apps.
Pro = Great design, Blackberry Messenger, Excellent for emails, surfing web is much better, search feature.
Con = little bit bulky for some, lack of apps, battery isn't the best.
My verdict is that I love the handset. It’s a great phone to use and it has some neat features to make it easier to use and find your way around the handset. It’s excellent for sending emails. Apps are definitely needed though to compete with Android and Apple. In terms of business use, it's difficult to beat.
I've been using a BlackBerry Torch 9800 for a few weeks now and think it's a fantastic device. Here are my favourite things about it; taking into account both the new device and BlackBerry OS 6.
